This isn’t so much major news as an opportunity to express my interest in the next Call of Duty game. I am a big fan of CoD 4, and am very much looking forward to its sequel by Infinity Ward, now entitled Modern Warfare 2. No real information has been revealed at this point, but a teaser trailer debuted at the recent GDC ’09, which is available at the official site, but I’ve embedded the Gametrailers version after the jump.
As expected, the teaser doesn’t do much more than just convey the themes and atmosphere of the game. It’s effectively done, using sound and flashes of scenes to great success. While not much can be seen there are still clues as to what is going on, and the GT Pop-Block video at Gametrailers picks out every detail. The trailer seems to take place in an airport, as seen from the point of view of a group of Russian terrorists travelling up an elevator. They make no sound other than the preparation of their weapons and a reminder by one of them to not reveal their nationality. The elevator doors open and the chaos starts.
